Dear Fellow Christians, Let’s Stop Pretending | Travis Garner’s Blog

The above post is a great reminder that church is a place where it is okay not to be okay.  Why is it we put on a show that we have it all together or that we don’t have any problems?

I thought the last paragraph was really good.

So, fellow Christians, let’s stop acting.  Let’s stop putting on a show.  Let’s stop pretending that because we’re followers of Christ that we’re more pure and unblemished and who’d and together than everyone else.  It’s exhausting to keep us such a charade!  Besides, the world doesn’t need to see our fake perfection, the world needs to see that in spite of our brokenness, God loves us and accepts us and adopts us as his own.  The invitation to follow Jesus is not and should not be, “Come as perfectly as you can make yourself appear,” but “Com as you are.”

Can I get an AMEN!
